Por isso, a época da viagem muda bastante o que você vai encontrar.The lagoons of Lençóis Maranhenses are made of rainwater. They form between the dunes during the rainy season, which usually runs from January to June, and slowly drop during the second half of the year. That is why the time of your trip changes so much of what you will find.
Junho a setembro: lagoas cheias
É a janela mais procurada. As chuvas já diminuíram e as lagoas costumam estar no auge, com água transparente e muito sol.
Julho é mês de férias escolares no Brasil, então vale reservar com antecedência.
Janeiro a maio: o parque enchendo
Chove com mais frequência e as lagoas ainda estão se formando. Em compensação, há menos gente nos passeios.
É uma boa época para quem não se importa com uma pancada de chuva e quer o parque mais tranquilo.
Outubro a dezembro: menos água, mais vento
As lagoas ficam menores e algumas secam, mas ainda há várias para nadar.
O vento forte do segundo semestre atrai praticantes de kitesurf para Atins, e os roteiros ficam mais calmos.

June to September: full lagoons
This is the most popular window. The rains have eased and the lagoons are usually at their fullest, with clear water and plenty of sun.
July is school holiday season in Brazil, so it is worth booking ahead.
January to May: the park filling up
It rains more often and the lagoons are still forming. On the other hand, the tours are less crowded.
A good time if you do not mind a passing shower and want a quieter park.
October to December: less water, more wind
The lagoons get smaller and some dry out, but there are still several to swim in.
The strong winds of the second half of the year bring kitesurfers to Atins, and the tours are calmer.
